Gaze HD Fireplaces and More App Reviews

Audio loop too short and repetitive!

So the video quality is very nice, even on a full size iMac. But the audio is a short (less than 10 second) loop, so you hear the same "crackle" noises over and over and over ... and over. Either make the loop longer, or dont have audio at all. Sure I can mute it, but how could you overlook such an annoying pattern of cracks and pops? Then again, this is the same problem that all of these types of screen savers have, balancing file size with loop duration.

Freezes up

app freezes up after running for thirty seconds on certain backgrounds!!

Loops too short

This seems to be a issue of quantity over quality. When compared to others I chose this becuase of the variety, but even after a long download the individual scenes are too short and the transitions often quite noticable where it loops. Id rather have a single loop that was much longer with some algorythmic variation in the audio. I do love how you manage to deliver the smell of wood burning though, it hit me as soon as I started it up.. nice touch!

Freezes and doesnt recycle

This would be a pleasant app, except that instead of the fire playing a continuous loop, it plays each alternate fire for a few minutes then on to the next. If I attempt to investigate its settings, it freezes.

STUCK IN FULLSCREEN

I only take the time to write reviews, when I really love an app or when one ticks me off. Although I love what this app has to offer as far as relaxation assistance, I cant stand the fact that once in fullscreen, I cant quickly reduce the size to get to an app underneath it. Just a few moments ago, when an alarm that was set on my mac, went off, I couldnt get to it speedily. Grrrrr… The alarm cant be disabled or muted from the keyboard. It can only be clicked on to stop it. So I kept trying to reduce the fireplace that I fell asleep to last night, but an "X" wouldnt appear, nor would the expansion arrows, which allowed me to go fullscreen to begin with. I tried hovering at the top of my screen, hoping that my menu bar would appear and it didnt and when right clicked, only "stop" was offered, but that doesnt close the screen or minimize it…and no, the escape button didnt work either. Finally I tried using the "exposé" function of my iMac to show my desktop, then quit gaze from there, and that worked. Thank goodness! At last, I could turn off the alarm. It wasnt blaring super loud, but since it is a high, repetitive tone, it attracts attention. I dont live alone and I really dont like to disturb others with my alarm, so it is imperative that I can disable it promptly. As much as I love to fall asleep to your relaxing fireplaces, Im not happy with them becoming a hinderance to other functionalities of my computer. Please fix this issue. Thank you.

Very nice app - one minor annoyance...

Very relaxing... can you find a way to make the pointer disappear when in full screen mode? It is terribly distracting.

Have to force shut down to get out of full screen

Still, after this and all related gaze HD programs, no fix for the iMac full screen freeze, and the ipad unable to stay on one scene, without choosing again. I think that they have gathered enough money and time to issue a fix to both of these very frustrating issues. A beautiful app, full of serious, and frustrating issues.

wow

all i can say is amazing
